One of the member companies in VT KnowledgeWorks, Portaqua, will soon be launching its portable system that purifies and packages drinking water. There’s some coverage at the Roanoke Times.
Roughly 5 feet by 5 feet and 1,000 pounds, the system can take untreated city water or water from rivers, lakes and oceans and produce between 3,000 and 10,000 gallons of potable water a day. The units can also bottle the water.
Quite a timely product with some of the recent natural disasters occurring both in the US and around the world. Portaqua is a great example of some of the diverse technology advances that will be coming out of both the VT CRC and VT KnowledgeWorks.
