Well, I arrived in Austin yesterday for SXSW. I scheduled a flight for a bit earlier on Friday so I’d have a chance to check out some of the local rock climbing in Austin. After numerous delays in getting to Austin from San Antonio’s airport (Austin has some serious traffic issues), I managed to get some bouldering in at McKinney State Park which was conveniently only five minutes from my hotel near the Austin airport. So far my initial thoughts on SXSW is that it’s chaotic. This is not necessarily a judgment, simply an observation. I’m sure events will start moving smoother as the registration process dies down. I’m so happy i decided to do the registration stuff last night and get it over with. For each of the panels I attend, I’ll try and post a summary of my notes and observations.
